Hello bookworms and welcome to Top Ten Tuesday!
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s topic is Favourite Places to Read
I’m a creature of habit so I had to get a little creative with this one!
1. My bed
There’s nothing like getting into a fresh pair of pj’s and snuggling down with a book.
2. Corner of my sofa
We recently purchased a corner sofa and the corner has now been named my ‘reading space’.
3. Walking
Don’t worry I don’t wonder around reading a book, that would be highly amusing for any on lookers as I would be tripping over everything. When I’m out walking I love listening to an audiobook, especially if I’m covering quite a distance – it helps take my mind off how far I have to go.
4. Driving
Twice a week I commute to a primary school to work, it’s only a 30 minute drive but again listening to an audiobook makes the journey more enjoyable.
5. Library
Granted I haven’t stepped foot in one for a while due to restrictions but the peace and quiet of a library is the perfect setting for escaping with your current read.
6. By the pool
When I next go abroad you can guarantee I will ponder over how many books I should take. Give my a pool, a refreshing drink and a good book and that’s me sorted on holiday.
7. Garden
For my birthday this year my husband got me a reclining chair for the garden. I’ve definitely been making the most of the lovely weather and relaxing in the garden with a good book.
8. With my boys at night time
Every night I will sit with my boys and read a story with them. My eldest loves reading the original Thomas books and Noddy. I can’t wait till they are both old enough for us to read some of my childhood favourites and find new children’s authors to love.
9. Travelling
Whether it is on a train, bus or plane I will have a book ready to read. I need something to do to pass the time! The only thing I haven’t mastered yet is reading the car, I always end up feeling sick.
10. In a park
During the nicer weather months I use to enjoy sitting in my local park and reading. Since having the boys I’ve not done this as much but as they are getting older I hope to get back to it soon.
I’m very intrigued to see what everyone else comes up with for this topic, I can guarantee someone will put a good spin on this weeks theme.

I love that reading with your boys is on this list! Some of my greatest memories as a kid revolve reading with my parents.

It’s one of my favourite times of the day, my eldest now likes to act out the stories as they read them which is really sweet.

Reading with my son is one I forgot but it doesn’t happen much anymore as he hates reading (and I have no idea why!!!)

Oh no! Hopefully it’s just a phase and he’ll start reading again soon 😊
