A few days ago I announced that I would be co-hosting a readathon in the New Year. Missed that blog post? Don’t worry you can find all the information here.
The readathon will take place between 1st – 31st January and is being hosted over on Twitter. There are four teams to choose from each with four main prompts, a group book and a bonus book. For each prompt you complete you earn points for your team and there is an opportunity to read books that match the other teams prompts, once you’ve finished yours. My team is Rapunzel and here are the prompts:
Here is what I have decided to read for the readathon:
Read the group book, retelling or book featuring royalty
I went with this one as I recently discovered the Lunar Chronicles series and the fact that it is a Rapunzel retelling makes it the perfect fit. Don’t worry if you have already read this one then you can read a retelling or a book featuring royalty instead.
Read a book with a strong female protagonist
Read a book with a book related word in the title
Read a Romance or a book with a Romance in it
Read a book set in a different country to where you live
Bonus – Read a genre you never/rarely read
