Series Saturday – March

Hello bookworms!

I have decided to start a new monthly feature on my blog called Series Saturday. I was amazed at how many book series I had on my shelf and thought it was about time I shared them with you all. Each month I will choose one series to feature. This may be a series I have read and loved or am yet to read. This month I have decided to share a series for all the fantasy lovers…..

Up until 2020 I would of said that I did not read fantasy, it was a genre that never really interested me to I stayed clear of it. Then one day I was scrolling through Borrow Box looking for an audiobook to start when I came across Cinder. Something about the cover intrigued me so I gave the synopsis a read and decided to give it a go. I am a huge Disney fan so the idea that these stories were based on them but with a twist sounded brilliant. Since then I haven’t looked back and this has now become one of my favourite series in my collection. With four stories plus a novella and a collection of short stories there’s enough material here to keep any avid reader going.

For anyone not familiar with this series here is the synopsis of the first book Cinder….

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless Lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . . Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg.

She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

What do I love about this series?

Oh I love everything. It’s so hard to explain what about this series is so good but every book introduces interesting characters and the running back story is fantastic. Yes there are cyborgs and other planets but these stories are about so much more than that. There’s friendships, romances, quests and lost queens! Of all the books I have to say my favourite is Cress. I flew through this book so quickly and at over 500 pages long that says something! This series will hold a special place in my heart because it has opened up a new genre to me and I have found some great books since.

Have you read The Lunar Chronicles? Which Is your favourite book in the collection?

Fancy sharing a series on your shelf? Why not join in?
