The Blogger Recommendations Tag

Merry Christmas everyone!

Every Saturday this year I have been sharing my blog post ‘Links I’ve Enjoyed This Week’. This was a post aimed to highlight book reviews and book tags that I found interesting. It was also a way to show appreciation to the bloggers who like, comment and share my own posts. I have planned to do something different with the post next year so I decided for the last Saturday I would change things again. I was kindly tagged by Nehal @ Quirky Pages a few weeks ago and this tag seemed the perfect way to end the year.

The Blogger Recommendations Tag is essentially a way for bloggers to share some of their favourite bloggers with their readers. It helps the readers discover more blogs and also brings appreciation to the bloggers mentioned.

The Rules:

  1. Thank and link back to the person who tagged you.
  2. Mention the creator of the tag: Nehal @ Quirky Pages (yup, that’s me).
  3. List the rules.
  4. Share one or more bloggers you think fits into each criteria.
  5. The people you mention will be considered tagged.
  6. Apart from the ones you shared, you can tag other bloggers and notify them.
  7. Just have fun!!

Here’s the list of prompts:

  1. A fascinating blog theme
  2. A lovely home page
  3. Great book reviews
  4. Amazing humour
  5. Mind-blowing poems and stories
  6. The friendliest
  7. The most consistent
  8. The best at sharing tips
  9. The talented artist
  10. Cool site name
  11. The underrated

Okay folks here we go……

1: A fascinating blog theme

I love Kristin Kraves Books blog theme, in fact her whole site is just lovely. The organisation, the aesthetics are just spot on and her logo is brilliant!

2: A lovely home page

I love Dee’s Words, Books and More homepage. it’s so neat, organised and beautiful so definitely check it out if you haven’t. Dee also does great reviews and brilliant insta photos!

3: Great book reviews

There are so many great book bloggers out there and I could name 100’s of people who write reviews, some of them are mentioned on here. However Jen Rose Writes always manages to express her views an opinions in a honest and beautiful way. Even if she hasn’t enjoyed a book as much as she’d hoped I always find her reviews to be well balanced. Another blogger who’s reviews I really enjoy are Tessa Talks Books. Tessa is a lovely person and always provides enlightening reviews and I have been known to bump a book up my tbr pile because of her.

4: Amazing humour

Whenever I see a comment from Caro @ CJR The Brit I know it will be one of two things. She’s either commented something lovely about my post or a little back and forth of jokes is about to start. I often feel that Caro and I are on the same wave length and always look forward to our little comment spree’s, particularly when my Spell The Month In Books doesn’t involve a ‘y’ or if we’re convincing each other to purchase yet another book! I look forward to continuing the banter next year Caro!

5: Mind-blowing poems and stories

It might be surprising to know but I don’t actually follow that many people who share short stories or poems on their blog so I’m going to cheat slightly here. A book blogger, I found on Twitter, that has a real way with words and expression in their reviews is Ellie @ Elspells. Ellie keeps me amused with her funny anecdotes about her children and her haiku’s are pure genius. Ellie’s book reviews are beautifully written and poetic! I’m also going to add a second blogger here who has written some interesting articles that have caused me to pause and reflect on my own choices. Sarah Collins Bookworm has a brilliant site full or interesting content. I love her book reviews and how she gets her point of view across but it is her ‘Thoughts, musings and randomness’ section that I love perusing. Her article on Fashion Sustainability was a real eye opener so do make sure you check that section out!

6: The friendliest

So I am going to be cheeky here and say the entire book blogger community! You are all fantastic and if you have ever read, liked or commented on one of my posts then please know how grateful I am. Thanks to all of you my book world has exploded in the best way possible.

7: Very consistent

Carla Loves To Read is not only consistent with her content but she’s consistent with her likes and comments. I always look forward to reading Carla’s blog posts and will quite often add her books to my buying/reading list. Carla also takes the trouble to return every comment she receives as well as commenting on other people’s blog posts.

8: The best at sharing tips

A year or so ago I reached out to Nicki @ Secret Library Book Blog to ask her how she categorised her blog and a few other questions. Here I was, a complete novice and trying to make my site more organised. Not only did Nicki come back quickly but she took the time to share links and articles to help me. She has also let me know once or twice when there was an error on my site, which I was very grateful for. Once again Nicki takes the times to comment on other’s posts and it was her own ‘Link’s I’ve Enjoyed This Week’ that inspired my own.

9: The talented artist

Emandherbooks switched over to WordPress earlier this year and I love her site but in particular I love her logo. It’s so cool as are all of her blog post headers etc. Considering she’s only been on WordPress a year she has a great site going!

10: Cool site name

Marta @ Monogamist Reader has a great name! It’s one that stands out and to top it off she has a brilliant blog site to go with it.

11: The underrated

The Corner of Laura is another great blogger website. I started interacting with Laura a couple of years ago and not only does she have a great site name but she is always coming with new and inventive book tags. Laura is another blogger that takes the time to comment on posts and is very consistent with her blog posts. If you don’t follow her already then please do check her out!

Aaand….done!!!

I tag:

I know not everyone likes to do these sort of posts so please do not feel pressured to complete this tag if it isn’t your thing. This was just a way for me to show some appreciation to my fellow bloggers. However if you have ever liked or commented on my book blog and enjoy doing these then please consider yourself tagged!
