The Ultimate Recommendations Book Tag

Happy Christmas Eve! I thought this tag would be very appropriate for the end of year. All of my answers are based on books I have read this year. If you fancy giving this a go then consider yourself tagged!

1. Recommend a book from one of your favourite genres

I love historical fiction and thoroughly enjoyed this one back in October. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series in the new year.

2. Recommend a short book

At less than 200 pages this is a very quick read. This was a book with a twist that I recommend every mystery solving lover read!

3. Recommend a book-to-screen adaptation

I have been very bad at watching tv this year, any free time I’ve had has been spent with my nose in a book. I am very excited though to see what they do with The Maid by Nita Prose.

4. Recommend a book out of your comfort zone

I’m not one for reading erotica, I’m more into the sweet, sweep me off my feet romance. However this book was brilliant and sexy!

5. Recommend a book series

I am not a huge fan of fantasy however fairy tale retellings I can get onboard with. I discovered this series last year and as I read each book I love it more and more.

6. Recommend a standalone

This book will break your heart and leaving you bawling but it is so worth it! I read this book at the start of this year and loved every minute of it.

7. Recommend a book you don’t talk about enough

This book broke my heart and really brought to life what it is like to be a Syrian refugee. Get the tissues ready if you read this one.

8. Recommend your “staple” book

I love reading crime/thriller. I often find that I will whizz through them as I am desperate to know the outcome or who the murderer is. This was my last 5 star read from that genre.

9. Recommend the book/s that got you into reading

I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. As a child I would love to read Matilda again and again but I was also a huge fan of Lucy Daniel’s Animal Ark books. As I approached my teenage years I found a love for Malorie Blackman’s series and to this day it remains one of my favourites books ever. As an adult I then found my all time favourite author Jodi Picoult. I love her books and will always buy her latest release, Vanishing Acts was the first of hers that I read.

10. Recommend 3+ bloggers who recommend great books

  • CJR The Brit
  • Secret Library Bok Blog
  • Carla Loves Books
  • Emandherbooks

  1. Thanks Lucy. I think I will try this tag between Christmas and New Year’s. I like your twist on using books you read this year. I will be checking out some of these that are not already on my TBR.
