Top 10 Reads of 2021…So Far!

As we are halfway through the year I wanted to take a look back at what I’ve read and see which ones are contenders for my top 10 reads so far. Of the 84 books I read from January to June 23 of them were 5 star reads, so I had a few to choose from.

Meet Me In Another Life by Catriona Silvey – This was an unusual read and completely different to my normal genre. I loved Santi and Thora’s different lives and the final revelation was well executed.

You and Me on Vacation by Emily Henry – Well Beach Read was one of my top 10 books of 2020 so is it any surprise that Emily Henry’s second book has made it to the list? I adored Poppy and Alex’s story and found the audio of this one was brilliantly executed.

Malice by Heather Walter – I’m a huge Disney fan and adore retellings. This was dark, addictive and pure magic, it will take everything you thought you knew about fairy tales and turn it inside out.

The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle by Matt Cain – Oh Albert’s story was so powerful and filled me with so much emotion. A beautifully written story filled with such amazing characters.

The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams – This was a fascinating historical fiction read. I loved learning all about the scriptorium and the quieter side of the suffragette movement. Esme’s story was told beautifully and will stay with me for a long time.

The Push by Ashley Audrain– This was a deeply disturbing and dark read that told a completely different side to motherhood. I loved it and the ending left me with shivers down my spine.

The Lucky List by Rachael Lippincott – This is one of my favourite YA books that I’ve read this year. Emily’s journey is hugely relatable and the ending had me sobbing.

The Sight of You by Holly Miller – Speaking of sobbing, this was another tear jerker. Joel and Callie’s story was incredibly moving and broke my heart.

Circus of Wonders by Elizabeth Macneal – This was another unusual read that left me wanting more. Whilst Nell was the absolute star of the show I really liked Toby’s story and his relationship with Jasper.

The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin – This story is EPIC. Lenni and Margot have literally stolen a piece of my heart and whilst I read this at the start of the year I am still telling everyone and anyone about it. I laughed, I sobbed my heart out and I would reread this a million times.

Have you read any of the ones on my list? Which books would be in your top 10?
