Hello bookworms and welcome to Top Ten Tuesday!
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s topic is Funny Book Titles – I’ve decided to go for funny in the unusual sense so the following books either have an unusual title or are about an unusual subject.
1. Roar by Cecelia Ahern
This is a collection of short stories all about the problems women face. We have The Woman Who Forgot Her Name, The Woman Who Was Pigeonholed and many more. Most of the stories made me giggle and definitely left me with a smile on my face.
2.The Smallest Man by Frances Quinn
This is the story of Nat Davy who became the ‘court dwarf’ during the reign of Charles I. It is a beautiful story that I really enjoyed.
3. The Charmed Wife by Olga Grushin
I was blown away by this dark and twisted tale of Cinderella, after she said I do. It took everything I thought about happily ever after and turned it on its head.
4. Tuesday Mooney Wore Black by Kate Racculia
Who doesn’t love a treasure hunt? Tuesday Mooney was an unusual character and this story certainly had something unusual about it.
5. The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
During this story we follow Aiden as he tries to not only save Evelyn but find out who murdered her. The only catch is he wakes up in a different body every time!
6. The End of Men by Christina Sweeney – Baird
The title alone sounds unusual to me and I can not wait to read this soon!
7. A Girl Made of Air by Nydia Hetherington
I just love the cover of this one! I thought the title was quite unusual and the synopsis really intrigues me.
8. The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton
Everything about this book just screams quirky to me!
9. The Lip by Charlie Carroll
This is another on my TBR and I have heard lots of great things about it.
10. The Yellow Bird Sings by Jennifer Rosner
I listened to the audio of this one last year and though the story was heart breaking, it was also beautifully told.
