Hello bookworms and welcome to Top Ten Tuesday!
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s topic is Characters Whose Job I Wish I Had (maybe not even because the job sounds fun, but maybe the co-workers are cool or the boss is hot?)
1. The Summer Job by Lizzy Dent
Wine Sommelier – I know nothing about wine but I would love to try working at a restaurant and see all the backstage drama! If I was working with the group at this delightful Scottish hotel then I’d be over the moon. They were a great group of randoms!
2. Beach Read by Emily Henry
Writer – I can imagine nothing better than spending my days researching and writing a book. Especially if I have dishy Gus to keep me company!
3. All Fall Down by M.J. Arlidge
Detective – Based on my track record with working out who dunnits I probably wouldn’t make a very good Helen Grace but a girl can dream!
4. Twelve Days of Christmas by Trisha Ashley
House Sitter – I’d love to be a house sitter, especially if it is in a remote village far away from civilisation!
5. The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles
Librarian – I would love to work in a library! The only problem I think I would have is not getting a lot done due to the fact I would be too busy reading!
6. The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult
Death Doula – This is a strange one but the idea of helping someone pass peacefully sounds like a rewarding job. I know it would be heart breaking but I would love to hear the different stories.
7. Sunshine & Secrets by Daisy James
Chef – I love cooking and whilst I can whip up a good meal for my family I am envious of those who can create sublime meals!
8. Where Rainbows End (Love Rosie) by Cecelia Ahern
B&B Owner – I know Rosie had a few jobs in this book but I routed for her to open her own B&B. Whilst it would be a lot of hard work I’d love all the interesting people I’d meet.
9. Christmas Island by Natalie Normann
Doctor – I know there would be a lot of things I wouldn’t like about this job but I think they would be over ruled by the sheer job satisfaction of changing someone’s life.
10. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Movie Star – Now I know this is a pipe dream as my acting skills are virtually non existent but it would be fun to try.
What is your dream job?
