Top 10 Reads of 2020 (Jul – Now)

I did a similar post at the end of June to mark the halfway point of the year. Now that this year is nearly over I thought it was only fair to look at my best reads for the last 6 months, before choosing my final top 10 of the year. There were quite a few to choose from so I found it difficult to narrow down. I’ve been fortunate enough to read some amazing books this year!

The Summer Job by Lizzy Dent – I am so glad I read this. It was the perfect pick me up after reading a lot of dark books. It made me laugh and left a huge smile on my face.

More Than Maybe by Erin Hahn – Ahh Luke and Vada were so cute!! I have a soft spot for musicians and loved how they combined dance with this one.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas– This was a book that felt very appropriate to read in the summer. It was emotional, raw, honest and full of power!

The Seven Husband’s of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid– This was a surprising read as I wasn’t sure what to expect going in to it. I loved Evelyn and the way she told her story.

The Glass House by Eve Chase -This is my favourite historical fiction read of the year!! Mystery, love, betrayal and so much more can be found in this captivating read.

Dear Emmie Blue by Lia Louis – I took part in the blog tour for this book and Emmie’s story was amazing. Not only did we have a good romance going but we watched as Emmie evolved into adulthood and discovered who she wanted to be.

Why Mummy’s Sloshed by Gill Sims – Do not get me started on this incredible book! I love the entire series and will forever return to Ellen and her family as my moppets grow up. This final instalment was perfect.

The Perfect life by Nuala Ellwood– I have read and loved all of Nuala’s books and this was no exception. Gripping, intense, fast paced story that was impossible to put down!

Down to the Woods by M.J.Arlidge – I can always rely on M.J.Arlidge to give me an ending that leaves me breathless. I love the Helen Grace series and always look forward to the next instalment.

All These Beautiful Strangers by Elizabeth Klehfoth – This book was my most surprising read of 2020. I did not expect to love it as much as I did. This was the perfect mix of teen drama and mystery.

Which books would be in your top 10? I honestly don’t know how I am going to choose my final 10!
