Synopsis:

You won’t be able to look away

When Vittoria Devine and Lily Power find themselves sitting next to each other on a flight to New York, they discover they both have men in their lives whose impact has been devastating. Lily’s family life is in turmoil, her brother left on the brink of ruin by a con man. Vittoria’s philandering husband’s latest mistress is pregnant.

By the time they land, Vittoria and Lily have realised that they can help each other right the balance. But only one of them knows the real story…

My Review:

I have to firstly give credit to the narrator of this audiobook. Evanna Lynch did a fantastic job of narrating this story, her voice was very smooth and really easy to listen to.

I love a story about revenge full of plots and exploits and was very intrigued by this story. I thought the back story to each of the women was well thought out and loved how they came to meet. Lily was hardworking and completely loyal to her brother Jack which made her the more likeable of the two main characters. Vittoria played the role of a woman scorned very well, I felt that she wasn’t as genuine as her partner in crime.

I liked how little contact the women had between them throughout their plots and how they both carried out their tasks the only problem I had was it all seemed to easy. Until the final chapters they never had a close shave or near exposures, every little detail was mapped out. For me this made it less believable, you’d expect a hiccup or two along the way to give the story a little more punch. Nevertheless I enjoyed the listen and the last few chapters were exciting and dramatic.

  1. You are killing the 20 Books for Christmas Challenge Lucy. How many is it now? I have not heard of this narrator, but will watch for her. Nice review, even though the book had a few issues for you.
