Book Tag – Shelfie by Shelfie

I spotted this tag created by bibliobeth  a while ago and since my dad has recently built me some new bookshelves I thought this was the perfect opportunity to do this tag.

If you want to join in, you share a picture (or “shelfie”) of one of your shelves i.e. favourites, TBR, however you like to organise them, and then answer ten questions that are based around that particular shelf. The shelf I have chosen isn’t necessarily a favourite shelf but I chose it because it has a variety of books on it. So without further ado here is one of my shelves:

And here are the questions!:

1.) Is there any reason for this shelf being organised the way it is or is it purely random?

Nothing about my bookshelves are random. I am obsessive when it comes to my books and their organisation. Firstly they are separated into hardcovers and paperbacks, then I arrange them by authors surname and within that by order of release.

2.) Tell us a story about one of the books on this shelf that is special to you i.e. how you got it/ a memory associated with it etc.

The Artemis Fowl books were a car boot find a few years ago. I managed to get all three books for £1! Probably one of my best bargains yet.

3.) Which book from this shelf would you ditch if you were forced to and why?

I would probably ditch the Cecelia Ahern one because I have started collecting hers in hardcovers.

4.) Which book from this shelf would you save in an emergency and why?

The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas . Anyone who has read this one will understand why.

5.) Which book has been on this shelf for the longest time?

Technically they’ve all been on there the same amount of time as its a new bookcase. The one I have owned the longest is The Hunger Games, I think.

6.) Which book is the newest addition to this shelf?

M.J. Arlidge – Liar Liar

7.) Which book from this shelf are you most excited to read (or re-read if this is a favourites shelf?)

I haven’t read any of Lucy Diamond’s books so I’m looking forward to starting some of hers.

8.) If there is an object on this shelf apart from books, tell us the story behind it?

No, object just books.

9.) What does this shelf tell us about you as a reader?

Hopefully that I enjoy a wide variety of books and I like to take care of them.

10.) Choose other bloggers to tag or choose a free question you make up yourself.

How many books on this shelf have I read? 12 out of the 26!

I quite enjoyed taking part in that tag. I am very proud of my bookcases so I thought I would share a snap of my bookcases in my teaching room.
