For fans of psychological suspense and compulsive mysteries, don’t miss this tense and page-turning novel. Before I Go to Sleep meets The Husband’s Secret.
Published 11th September 2017, this is Kate White’s novel- The Secrets You Keep. I am delighted to be a part of the blog tour and as this is my first participation I am very excited. I’d like to thank Ellie Pilcher from Canelo Publishing for inviting me to take part and allowing me to read and review the book. Lets get on with it shall we…
After finishing this book I decided to look at what other people had said about it and read through my fellow bloggers opinions. It seems that this book has divided people, some absolutely love it whilst others seem to find the storyline lacking and predictable. For me I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and watching the mystery unfold. I have read some psychological thrillers that drag the story out for 500+ pages where as this is neatly wrapped up in less than 300.
The story is filled with suspense, red herrings, betrayal, twists and turns. What more could you ask for? From the moment I picked it up I had to know the answer, not just to who the murderer was but also to Bryn’s lack of memory surrounding the car accident.
My only issue with the story was with Bryn. I felt she was far too trusting of people she had just met, telling them things that ordinarily I don’t think someone would but that is only a minor issue, don’t let that stop you from reading this book.
Overall I give the book 4* and will definitely be on the lookout for Kate White’s next book as well as adding some of her others to my reading list. This is book number 6 in my summer reading challenge, only three to go in two weeks! Best get a move on.
Don’t forget to check out the other stops on the blog tour!
